The Reform UK leader Accuses Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks suggested the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves as opposed to current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I mean this. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for free to all who wish to learn.”
