Red Bull Confirms Substantial 2026 Driver Line-Up: Hadjar Elevated, Youngster Lindblad Earns F1 Drive.

Red Bull has confirmed a major reshuffle for the 2026 Formula 1 season, elevating Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its A-team and giving 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his debut F1 drive.

Lindblad, who is of Swedish and Indian heritage, is set to become team-mate to Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the junior outfit VCARB.

This reshuffling results in Japan's Yuki Tsunoda losing his seat after five seasons.

The New British Hope

Lindblad has been marked out as a potential future star by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old.

Talking about the team's junior academy, a senior Red Bull figure previously said that Lindblad "looks really promising", praising his "pure speed".

The team prepared a programme since last year to ready Lindblad for his potential F1 debut in 2026, including appearances in Grand Prix practice at the British and Mexican races.

Lindblad stated it was a "huge honour", commenting: "Next season represents a massive test, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm prepared to work closely with the team and meet the challenge. I am incredibly excited to get started."

Lindblad has taken a couple of victories in F2 so far this season and is sixth in the standings ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi.

The Frenchman's Chance

Hadjar's F1 career started in difficult fashion when he crashed on the formation lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. But, since then, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers of the year.

He included an excellent podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies in tenth place in the drivers' standings.

The team principal commented: "Isack has displayed impressive growth and proved to be a fast adapter. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can excel alongside Max."

Hadjar described it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "up for the challenge".

Lawson Retains His Seat

To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have chosen Lawson instead of Tsunoda.

Lawson started 2025 with the main team but was moved back early in the year. However, he has found his form at Racing Bulls with notable results, persuading Red Bull he merits more time.

Tsunoda, meanwhile, loses his place after a disappointing season. His best result is a sixth place, and he has accumulated a minor percentage of the team's constructors' championship.

These announcements mean that there is also no place on the Red Bull programme for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 next season.
