Iran Reports Assault on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
