Prosecutors have stated that a ex- physician has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
