AC Shadows Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season

In a bizarre collaboration that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Disclosed

According to the formal statement, "An unusual confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome transformations echo through the darkness." The narrative introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a secret sect.

The mission focuses on "peculiar tests and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses

The teaser showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the captive, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Additional Features

Players who finish the quest will receive an exclusive katana alongside several items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Latest Free Story Addition

This patch also adds the game's third free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe introduces a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
